Northeastern athletics made its first appearance in a Colonial Athletic Association Championship (CAA) competition Saturday.
The men’s and women’s cross country teams finished seventh and fifth, respectively, at the CAA Championships in Wilmington, N.C.
Sophomore Tom Brown was the Huskies’ top finisher in 44th place with a time of 27:07.09. Juniors Will Davidian (27:16.44) and TJ Niles (27:23.41) finished 48th and 52nd, respectively. Northeastern’s final finisher was freshman Ricky Fendorak with a time of 27:31.74 in 58th place. The team finished fifth out of nine teams with 213 points.
The women’s team tallied 163 points for a fifth place tie with Towson. The Huskies were again led by senior Emily Watson, who placed 23rd with a 23:27.07 finish. Junior Erin Ballard (23:44.65) finished 34th and freshman Brittany Moriarty (23:58.04) 38th. Senior Amber Cullen finished last for Northeastern in 50th place with a time of 24:21.24.
Northeastern hosts the NCAA regional at Franklin Park on Saturday, Nov. 12. Teams from New England and New York will compete for berths to the NCAA Championship.
