When students were young, Halloween was a night of roaming around the neighborhood on a sugar high searching for the house giving away the regular sized candy bars. Now, it’s turned into a night of heavy drinking, minimal clothing and students roaming the streets high off things besides sugar.
As people get older, the concept of Halloween changes, and college students give a new meaning to the holiday. Many college students “sexify” Halloween.
Popular costumes have been transformed into characters that could appear in an X-rated movie. The holy concept of an angel is now nothing more than a white bikini with glitter, and Little Bo Peep’s short skirt and revealing top makes more than just her lamb follow her around.
Rachel Bartolomei, a school psychology graduate student, has not chosen a costume for this year but admits to following the trend in the past.
