Northeastern’s swimming and diving team earned two victories in Sunday’s dual meet home-opener.
NU out-stroked the University of Maine by a score of 171-120, while also easily lapping Central Connecticut State, 176-89.
The Huskies received first place finishes in 10 of the meet’s 16 total events. Junior Katie Kane led NU, who finished with the top time in the 100 breaststroke. Younger sister Kristen won the 200 breaststroke, while the 200 medley relay team of Kelly Colburn, Katie Kane, Rachel Marullo, and Kaitie Colligan took the top spot. Colburn took home the honors in the 50 freestyle as well. Two-time team MVP Emily White raced to a first place finish in the 100 butterfly, while freshman phenom Sarah Reddick took first in the 100 freestyle and 200 individual medley.
