Zedd made his second stop of his United States “Telos” tour at MGM Music Hall at Fenway Sept. 20. He performed for two nights, the first being Sept. 19. Both shows were jam-packed and the Sept. 20 show was sold out.
Anton Zaslavski, also known as Zedd, was born in Russia and started making music in 2010 when he released his first song, “The Anthem.” He then released his debut album two years later when he dropped “Clarity” in 2012. The album went on to be a major success and his single, “Clarity,” went on to win the Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording in 2014. In 2015, Zedd released his second album “True Colors,” and now, nine years later, he has dropped his third album “Telos.”
The tour celebrates the release of “Telos,” which came out Aug. 31. The tour will last a month and span across seven states with 16 total shows. So far, the tour has sold out for over half of its stops. Zedd said this new album is different — he did not want to make classic 128 BPM music, but instead create music that told a story where each song leads into the next. He wanted to make more meaningful music that he would be proud of forever.
The “Telos” tour brought out all the lasers, pyrotechnics and progressive house music every Zedd fan knows and loves. The tour also featured a few homages, including when Zedd played the drums for a few songs, nodding to his upbringing and his start in music as a drummer in the metal band Dioramic. This tour was a spectacle of color, light and music, bringing in new elements while also giving the lifelong fans something to reminisce about.
