Northeastern’s men basketball (6-3, 0-0 CAA) dominated La Salle University Explorers (6-3, 0-0 Atlantic 10) Dec. 3, notching a 82-68 win.
The Huskies consistently had the lead over the La Salle Explorers, shutting down their opponents with an exception of La Salle guards graduate student Corey McKeithan and senior Daeshon Shepherd, who notched a combined total of 39 points. Junior guard Harold Woods snatched the most points, 17, amongst his fellow Huskies.
As a unit, the Huskies went 33/63 from the field, tallying 8/19 of their three-pointers, an improvement from their previous game versus University of Vermont Catamounts, where they notched 1/15.
This game had scores of career highs, with junior guard Masai Troutman earning six field goals, junior guard Rashad King with nine rebounds and junior guard LA Pratt securing four steals. Junior center Collin Metcalf also beat his previous record of 9 and 3 in career highs for both rebounds and blocks, with 10 and six respectively.
William Kermoury, a sophomore guard, scored five three-pointers, tied with his second most of the season. Troutman and Pratt followed close behind, each with four three-pointers.
The Huskies take on the Colgate Raiders (2-7, 0-0 Patriot League) Dec. 8 at home.
