The women’s hockey team was defeated by No. 7 New Hampshire (9-4-5, 5-1-3 Hockey East), 3-0, Dec. 9. Freshman goaltender Florence Schelling made 21 saves for the Huskies, but she could not match the effort of the Wildcats’ Lindsey Minton, who made 22 stops to record a shutout in her first collegiate start.
The Huskies’ have failed to score in two games against the Wildcats this season, as they lost 2-0 in Durham on Nov. 26. Northeastern is now 1-4 when playing teams ranked in the top-10. Their lone win versus a ranked opponent came Oct. 19 against Connecticut, a team that was no longer ranked at the end of 2008.
