Another year, another set of inductees into the annals of school history.
Northeastern elected seven members into the school’s hall of fame last Friday at Matthews arena. The inductees:
Marko Banovic, ’94 – Spearheaded men’s crew team that went 5-1, finished second in the Eastern Sprints, and an IRA Championship.
Steve Carney, ’92 – An all conference player as a junior and senior, he set a school season record for rebounds with 356. He is currently playing professionally in Portugal.
Karen Davidson-Townley, ’88 – An explosive offensive weapon for the women’s field hockey team, she set all scoring records between 1983-86.
Rod Isbister, ’87 – One of the greatest scorers in the east, he led the men’s hockey team to Beanpot titles in 1984 and 1985. A recent induction to the Beanpot Hall of Fame, he ended his career with 189 points.
Dana Kozimor-Zugay, ’93 – A phenomenal swimmer and astute scholar, she set Northeastern, New England and ECAC records in the one-meter and three-meter dives, while graduating summa cum laude with a 3.86 GPA in Industrial Engineering.
Jim Murphy, ’98 – Arguably the greatest quarterback to ever grace the university, he left with almost every passing record imaginable. He earned the Bulger Lowe Award as New England’s Outstanding Player.
Donna Petrsorich-Hinkes, ’93 – A superb distance runner, She won the New England outdoor championship in the 3000-meter run in 1987 and 1988, and still holds school records in the indoor 1500, mile and 3K and outdoor 1500, 3K and 5K marks set between 1985-1988.
