Tuesday, June 3
1 p.m.
A 39-year-old male student reported his book bag stolen after he left it unattended in Snell Library for an hour. It contained several books and his passport.
4 p.m.
An undergraduate student reported his cell phone missing after leaving it unattended for five minutes earlier that morning in the Stetson West lobby.
6:30 p.m.
A 19-year-old student and Willis Hall resident reported $120 stolen from his apartment and a door knob broken off and missing from the door. There were no other thefts in the apartment. Detectives did not think the story was credible and further interviewed the student. Later, the student acknowledged that he had broken the door knob off himself and in an effort to avoid being charged for the damage, made up the story. He was referred to the Office of Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution (OSCCR).
11 p.m.
A 22-year-old female student reported her Palm Pilot missing after she left it unattended for five minutes in the first floor study room of Dodge Hall.
4:30 p.m.
A food services manager in the Curry Student Center reported a laptop computer stolen from the office in the food services area when it was left unattended for 15 minutes. A female student and part-time employee of food services also reported her bag stolen.
Thursday, June 5
8 a.m.
A person was found napping on the benches outside of Hurtig Hall. An officer awakened him and identified him. There was an outstanding arrest warrant for shoplifting for the individual issued by the BPD. The man, Pierre Mazarin, 22, was taken into BPD custody and found to be homeless — originally from Jamaica Plain.
2 p.m.
A 21-year-old student reported his parking decal stolen from his Jeep in the Renaissance Parking Garage. The top was down on his vehicle.
11:30 p.m.
A Resident Assistant at 780 Columbus Ave. discovered several people in the corridors drinking beer. The RA told police they might be guests of a student. They were gone before police arrived. The student who signed them in will be referred to OSCCR.
Friday, June 6
1 a.m.
An 18-year-old student was arrested at White Hall for disorderly conduct and assault and battery after grabbing an RA by the arm. When officers were responding to a report that fireworks had gone off in the building, they encountered an intoxicated student coming out of the front door. The student, Davis Finn, almost fell down the stairs and was swearing at an officer. The officer suggested he go back to his room in White Hall. Finn continued his outbursts, and was told to return to his room.
Later, after the officers left, White Hall staff reported that he was being carried to the bathroom and was acting out loudly and was incoherent. Police returned and arrested him after he grabbed a staff member’s arm.
2 p.m.
A 22-year-old female student reported being assaulted by several males that she believed were students. She had been out that night, and was returning to her apartment on campus to continue to socialize. At one point she was grabbed by one or two males that wanted her to go to their apartment. She was able to break away, after she was slapped in the face.
She acknowledged that she was under the influence and believed the males were too. She decided not to press charges.
Sunday, June 8
2:30 a.m.
A male student, living in a Westland Avenue apartment, reported his compact disc player missing while he was packing to go home for summer. He suspected his roommates took it because they were not getting along.
Monday, June 9
1 a.m.
A female student, who left Stetson East around 5 p.m., came home to discover some of her property stolen, including her laptop and radio.
9 p.m.
A 21-year-old male reported his X-box game system and several game cartridges missing. He could not find them when he was unpacking his things in a new apartment. He suspects his former roommates.
Friday, June 13
11 p.m.
A male visitor rode his bicycle to Blackman Auditorium for an event and locked his bike to a bench in Krentzman Quad. When he returned, all he found was the front tire.
Saturday, June 14
7:30 p.m.
A resident of 780 Columbus Ave.. discovered his cable box missing. He suspected his previous roommate.
Monday, June 16
11 a.m.
Staff in the Behrakis Health Sciences Center reported two personal computers stolen in offices on the sixth floor. There was no forced entry and several people have access to those offices.
Tuesday, June 17
Noon
A manager at the Marino Center Wollaston’s caught a 31-year-old female student shoplifting health and beauty aids. The woman went up to the counter to pay for a banana and when questioned on the contents of her pockets, she admitted to taking the products. Charges were not filed, but she was referred to OSCCR.
Wednesday, June 18
1 p.m.
Two female students from Willis Hall reported their personal property damaged by bleach. They suspected their previous roommate who they were not getting along with.
2 p.m.
A 21-year-old male student living on Hemenway Street discovered a man in his bedroom who looked homeless. The student questioned the man who said he was looking for someone and then fled. The man didn’t take anything. The student had left his front door unlocked.
Monday, June 23
7 p.m.
A female staff member who parked her vehicle in the Columbus Parking Garage discovered a broken window. The doors were still locked and nothing was missing from the vehicle.
