Each and every Wednesday I look forward to reading The Northeastern News in order to see exactly what kind of garbage is going to be printed. I must say often I find meaningless stories that students frankly could care less to read about, and this week’s edition didn’t fail to disappoint. Actually this week’s edition takes the cake in regards to useless material. I mean no disrespect or insult to Jaxon White, but for the love of God do you really think Notheastern students care whether a “transgendered student” can find adequate housing on campus? Not exactly front page material if you ask me. The News could have chose any number of stories that would have been better suited for the front page, how bout the baseball team winning the America East Tournament Championship, or why not start the top ten for 2003 on the front page instead of on page 16, another alternative could have been the article regarding the dispute over the [law, policy and society PhD program’s] director change. I believe any of these stories would have been a much better front page choice as they affect and have the interest of a far greater amount of students than the choice of profiling Jaxon White’s dilemma. — Joe Bigda is a senior finance major.
