In June, the men’s hockey team unveiled a vastly different 2003-04 schedule than the one they played last season.
Instead of home dates against powers like Denver, Wisconsin, Maine, Boston University, Providence and UNH within the first month, NU is slated to face only Colgate, Merrimack, UMass-Lowell and Providence at home during the same stretch. On the road in the first month, the Huskies will claw it out with Denver for a two game series, as well as at Lowell on Nov. 1 and at Maine on Nov. 17.
NU was a dismal 10-21-3 last season, and merely 5-13-2 in Hockey East play, earning the distinction as the only HE team to not qualify for the postseason.
On Feb. 2, Northeastern will begin its attempt at doing something the club hasn’t done in 16 years: win a Beanpot title. They face BU in the opening round.
