Crime Log: Aug. 13- Sep. 4

September 6, 2012
A female student in 109 St. Stephen St. reported that her roommate had been acting inappropriately by exposing her buttocks in the student’s view.

August 15, 2012
A student reported that her BMW bicycle was stolen from the bike racks in front of the Cabot Center. She said she parked her bike there at 10:20 a.m. and when she returned 1:50 p.m., the bike was missing. The bike had been secured with a cable lock.

August 1, 2012
A staff member in the Behrakis Health Sciences Center reported that someone may have broken into her office because she saw some paper towels on the floor but nothing appeared to be missing. A responding officer reported that the first person in the office arrived at 8:15 a.m. That person noticed that some doors were open and the door leading into a certain suite was propped open with some paper towels. There were no signs of forced entry.

July 18, 2012
A student reported that she had put her backpack down at a table in Boloco on Huntington Avennue and when she returned, her backpack was missing but another was in its place. A responding officer reported that the backpack that was left behind was empty. The missing backpack contained a MacBook Pro laptop, a Coach wristlet and a Blackberry.

July 4, 2012
A proctor in Willis Hall reported that there was a male passed out in a stall in the men’s bathroom in the basement. A responding officer found an 18-year-old male, with no university affiliation, fully-clothed and sitting on the toilet seat. An 18-year-old female student was found sleeping on the couch in the basement common area. Both were cooperative and alert but admitted to drinking earlier in the night. Both were escorted to the female’s room in Willis Hall.

June 21, 2012
Three students, who are roommates in an off-campus apartment, went to NUPD headquarters to report that their fourth roommate, also a student, threatened them with a metal pipe after a verbal argument. The Boston Police Department (BPD) was notified and assumed jurisdiction.

Crime Log: May 20-June 4

June 7, 2012
A student reported that three males wearing scarves and masks on their faces were trying to break into Chicken Lou’s. The student stated that one man was tugging on the front door while the other two were hiding around the building. An officer stopped the three Northeastern students, who said that they were playing a prank on a friend and did not realize their behavior was suspicious. The male who was tugging on the door to the building was trying to find a place to hide in order to scare the friend. The students were given a warning.

May 24, 2012
The manager of 97 St. Stephen St. reported a large snake inside an aquarium in the basement. An officer responded and confirmed that a two-and-a-half-foot long, one-inch thick, brown, black and tan snake was inside a small aquarium covered with a board and a brick. Animal control was contacted and took possession of the snake.

May 9, 2012
A U.S. Postal Service inspector mailed a student’s wallet to NUPD. The Postal Service attempted to return the wallet to the address listed on his Rhode Island driver’s license, but the address turned out to be that of a business, and the license was determined to be fake. The wallet also contained the student’s under-21 Massachusetts driver’s license. The fake ID was confiscated and the student was reported to OSCCR.

April 19, 2012
A proctor at 10 Coventry reported a drunk man on the corner of Burke Street and Columbus Avenue. Officers found the man, an 18-year-old who was admitted as a freshman for fall 2012, was intoxicated, vomiting and shoeless. He was transported by ambulance to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. OSCCR and the Admissions office will be involved in a follow-up investigation.

April 5, 2012
A student reported a woman punched her in the face inside Conor Larkin’s Grill and Tap on Huntington Avenue. NUPD officers responded, and found the student with a bloody nose. She declined medical attention, and the woman who hit her had left the area. BPD assumed jurisdiction.

Crime Log: March 20-March 25

March 29, 2012
A student reported her laundry was stolen from the laundry room on the 22nd floor of International Village (INV). She left her laundry at 2 p.m. on March 20 and when she returned at 7 p.m. on March 22, it was gone.
