Crime Log: Oct. 20-25

October 27, 2011
A student reported he saw some people who appeared to have stolen a sign off a Northeastern University building on St. Stephen Street.

October 20, 2011
A Northeastern University Division of Police Safety (NUPD) officer reported he recognized a known criminal on Forsyth Street. The man, Daniel Kilroy, 28, of Dorchester, was wanted in Waltham, Cambridge and Dorchester for theft. The officer arrested Kilroy and NUPD issued him a trespass warning.

October 13, 2011
A staff member reported he was approached by two young men near the footbridge between Camden and Gainsborough Streets. The young men tried unsuccessfully to take his cell phone, then ran away.

Crime Log: Sept. 27-Oct. 3

October 6, 2011
Four staff members discovered several laptops and ceiling projectors were stolen from unlocked rooms overnight. The laptops were from a fourth floor classroom in Lake Hall and first floor graduate student office suites in Nightingale Hall. Two ceiling projectors were taken from conference rooms on the fourth and fifth floors of Holmes Hall. There was no evidence of forced entry.

Tuesday, Sept. 20, 11:15 a.m. - A student reported he locked his bike outside International Village (INV) on Sept. 3 and on Sept. 20 he discovered the front tire still locked to the rack but the rest of the bike missing.

September 22, 2011
Entry of the Week: A student in West Village A ordered $55 worth of pizza but it did not arrive. The student called the restaurant and employees said the pizza was already delivered. The deliveryman said someone took the pizza in the lobby of the residence hall. His order was duplicated by the restaurant.

Crime Log: Aug. 29-Sept. 11

September 15, 2011
Monday, Aug. 29 11:00 p.m. A student reported discovering her bicycle missing from outside Burstein Hall sometime between 11 a.m. and 11 p.m. The cut cable lock was found on the ground. Tuesday, Aug. 30 Noon A student who parked her car near The Fenway reported her car was broken into sometime since 9 p.m. the previous night. A GPS was reported missing. 1:30 p.m. A student left his laptop in a backpack unattended for five minutes on the first floor of the Marino Center. Upon returning, he discovered the laptop, along with his passport, was gone.

Crime Log – Aug. 2 to Aug. 13

August 18, 2011
ENTRY OF THE WEEK: Wednesday, Aug. 10, 1:30 a.m. – A proctor in Davenport A reported two intoxicated female students ran into the building, followed by a taxi driver who said they didn’t pay their fare. Officers found them in a male student’s room, but the resident was not home. The students were evaluated by EMTs, but did not need medical attention. They were told to leave the building and will be reported to OSCCR.

August 3, 2011
ENTRY OF THE WEEK: Monday, August 1 9 a.m. A facilities employee reported he left the office door open when he left the building around 8 a.m. When he returned, the door was closed and he realized there was a person standing behind it. The man approached a teenager, who said he was finishing a phone call and then left. As the teen left the building, the employee followed him and called NUPD with a description of him. Within minutes, officers spotted the teen on Tremont Street and stopped him after a brief chase. The boy, 16, from Somerville, had a stolen Northeastern hat in his backpack and he was arrested for burglary. The employee also reported finding ejaculate on his office desk.

ENTRY OF THE WEEK: Friday, July 15, 2 p.m. – A student reported her phone was stolen while she was on the first floor of the Curry Student Center. She told officers a man approached her and asked for directions. The man said he was confused and asked her to stand up and point in the right direction. When the student sat back down, she realized her phone had been stolen.
