Men’s soccer drops two en route to fifth seed in CAA tourney

Two conference losses this past week left Northeastern men’s soccer as the fifth-seed heading into this weekend’s Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) tournament. The Huskies dropped Saturday’s match to the College of Charleston, 1-0, before rounding out the regular season slate with a 4-2 loss to the University of North Carolina-Wilmington (UNCW).

For the second year in a row, the women’s soccer team hosted a quarterfinal game in the Colonial Athletic Association Championship. However, unlike last year, their playoff journey will not be cut short – the Huskies ousted the University of Delaware Sunday in an overtime thriller which ended in penalty kicks.

After putting together a four-game winning streak, the Northeastern men’s soccer team dropped two straight contests this week, losing its first conference game of the season on Saturday before dropping their final non-conference bout on Tuesday. The Huskies fell to the College of William & Mary, 1-0, in Virginia before dropping a 2-0 decision to the University of Hartford back home at Parsons Field.

Arian Foster, the Houston Texans All-Pro running back, is currently day-to-day after missing most of the his team’s Week 8 game against the Kansas City Chiefs with a hamstring injury. Foster being sidelined is problematic for Head Coach Gary Kubiak and Texans fans everywhere, but in the near future, it could be cause for concern for Foster’s investors, too.
