Women’s hockey win sixth straight, off to best start in program history

The Northeastern women’s hockey team, ranked eighth best in the country, traveled north to Burlington, Vermont to face off with the Catamounts, (1-4-2). They are now off to their strongest start ever after their 4-1 win on Tuesday night which extended their win streak to six games.

In a foul-filled contest where tensions ran high, the Huskies failed to score and left Parsons Field for the last time this season. Hofstra’s early goal forced Northeastern to play catch up before ending the season in a 1-0 loss in their semifinal matchup on Sunday. Northeastern finished the year with an impressive CAA record of 7-2-0.

The Huskies could not make it back-to-back wins on Saturday, as they lost 2-1 to the College of Charleston Cougars (4-8-2, 1-4-1 CAA) in South Carolina. Despite an early goal from first-year forward/midfielder Ryan Massoud, the Cougars scored two goals within 30 seconds late in the game to complete the comeback and take all three points.
