Overall, it was a successful trip for the Huskies, who hadn’t won an away game at Alfond Arena in over three years. After going 1-0-1 in that same arena this weekend, it’s fair to say the Huskies have remedied their struggles up north.

Playing in their first Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) tournament game since 2014, the Northeastern men’s soccer team (6-9-1, 3-4-1 CAA) fell in a first round 1-0 loss to Hofstra (9-6-4, 5-2-1) in their final game of the season.

Basketball fans at Matthews Arena were treated to a thrilling season opener on Tuesday that came down to the final shot. In the end, Northeastern men’s basketball fell to the Boston University Terriers by a score of 77-74 after senior guard Vasa Pusica missed on a difficult three point attempt at the buzzer.

Northeastern men’s basketball continues to make a name for itself, being named the Colonial Athletic Association Preseason Favorite. The team received 35 first place votes which beat out last year’s conference champions the University of Charleston.

Not long after the two quick goals by Ward and Mueller, Aurard blasted one past Pelletier on the powerplay to extend the lead to four goals. Mueller received a pass from Hobson along the blue line and faked out the defenders with a great shot fake before passing it cross-ice to Aurard at the far post, who quickly fired off a high shot.
