Lambda Kappa Sigma (LKS), the sorority for women in pharmacy, will be hosting a haircut-a-thon, benefiting a charity. Proceeds will go to Project HOPE, a program that is in its 46th year.
The event will be held at Amaci Salon Tuesday, Aug. 3 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. LKS will be offering discounted professional haircuts in an effort to raise money for the charity.
A haircut with a blowdry will cost $15, a discount that LKS hopes will draw customers.
Donations will go to Project HOPE, a charity dedicated to improving the world’s health care — especially in impoverished areas — through health education, examination of health policy, and provision of aid to third world nations.
The program has trained over two million people in the health service area to continue the mission of spreading health education, disease prevention and offering humanitarian support, according to the program’s Web site.
