Hello Northeastern News,
I recently picked up a copy of the Northeastern News a week or two ago, and noticed the new column entitled “sexcapades.”
I was shocked at the moment that the paper would lower its standards so much as to include such a section. I would think that a university supported newspaper would provide its students with more substantial, beneficial, and educational information – rather than a recount of a person’s sex life.
I really don’t care to hear about anyone’s “sexcapades.” I find this rather inappropriate and distasteful.
There is an abundance of worthwhile news to investigate locally, nationally, and globaly without resorting to “gossip” type of material. If students are interested in this type of media, there are many sources already available in the ganre of sex and “scandal.” Not only that, but I am sure much gets around by word of mouth.
I would very much appreciate if the newspaper would discontinue this section of the paper, or replace it with higher quality subject matter.
Thank You,
Corissa Abel
