Northeastern officials are evaluating options for expanding the Marino Center into the Huntington Avenue space vacated early last month by the Nutrition One health store.
“We’re going to be looking at taking over the space that many of you may know as Nutrition One and putting that physical footprint to use for a more recreational space,” Philomena Mantella, Northeastern’s senior vice president of enrollment and student affairs, said Monday during an address to the Student Government Association. “We’ll be looking at ideas around, perhaps a personal training area, perhaps a spinning room, perhaps a multi-purpose room or dance space.”
University spokeswoman Renata Nyul said in an email to The News designs for this expansion are underway and it will likely include studio space for classes, spinning and personal training.
