Former student affairs VP moves on to College Board
Ed Klotzbier, Northeastern’s former vice president for student affairs took the position of regional vice president for College Board’s New England Regional Office March 30. Klotzbier served as vice president for student affairs for eight years and director of university communications for two years. Dr. Laura Wankel replaced Klotzbier as VP of student affairs.

SGA stipend cut appeal under review
Soon after the Finance Board cut Student Government Association executive board stipends, President Michael Sabo appealed the decision. “The stipend appeal is still currently under review by the Vice President of Student Affairs Laura Wankel,” Sabo said in an email to The News. “There is no definite time set for an announcement on the result and it will likely be some more time before a final decision is made.”

Northeastern student wins Jeopardy
Northeastern School of Law student Doug Lloyd won $12,400 on Jeopardy, the popular trivia game show. The episode aired April 9, and Lloyd went on to compete in the next show, winning $2,000 for finishing in second place. He completed his undergraduate education at Harvard and will graduate from law school next month.

Women’s hockey stars face off in world tournament
Freshman forward Kendall Coyne and graduating senior goaltender Florence Schelling of the women’s hockey team represented their native countries – the United States and Switzerland, respectively – at the 2012 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Women’s World Championship April 7-14 in Burlington, Vt.
Schelling backed Switzerland to its first podium finish in the tournament’s 22-year history, making 50 saves in the bronze medal-deciding game to give Switzerland the victory.
The US lost in the gold medal game for the first time in four tournaments as team Canada topped Coyne and the Americans, 5-4, in overtime. Coyne scored a goal in the game, bringing her point total in the tournament to five goals and four assists.
The two Huskies squared off against each other in the semifinal round, when Coyne and Team USA as it crushed Switzerland, 10-0. Coyne registered a goal and two assists against Schelling to advance the Americans to the title game.
