Entry of the Week: Saturday, Feb. 23, 9:56 p.m.
A staff member reported observing a man in the Smith Hall laundry room standing still in a strange position for several hours. Officers responded and reported the man was a mannequin with his head stuck in the dryer machine. Officers contacted the RD who reported the mannequin may have come from an art project in Ryder Hall. Officers checked Ryder with no results.

Monday, Feb. 18

4:11 p.m.
The brother of a student walked into Northeastern University Division of Public Safety (NUPD) headquarters to report concerns regarding a roommate dispute between his sister and her roommate. Upon speaking with both roommates, NUPD officers determined that the issue was a matter of personal hygiene. Both roommates were provided with the contact information of their Residence Director (RD) and Resident Assistant (RA).

Tuesday, Feb. 19

9:36 a.m.
A student reported he accidentally left his backpack in the Curry Student Center (CSC) on the previous Monday at 5 p.m. and upon picking it up from the lost and found, he noticed his laptop and charger were missing.

11:42 a.m.
A student reported her unattended purse, containing her driver’s license and MBTA pass were stolen from the Sacred Space the previous Sunday.

11:47 a.m.
A student reported that she had received harassing notes from her roommate regarding the use of her belongings.

3:31 p.m.
While following up on a case, NUPD detectives confiscated a small bag with a green leafy substance, six capped needles, one tourniquet and one stainless steel knife with brown burn marks from West Village E.

7:41 p.m.
A student in West Village E reported the odor of marijuana coming from a kitchen vent. Officers responded and reported that the student said it had happened frequently. Officers reported they were unable to determine where the odor was coming from.

8:32 p.m.
A student reported his wallet was stolen 30 minutes prior while at the Marino Center basketball court. The wallet contained his Husky Card and various credit cards. The student was instructed to cancel his credit cards and the Husky Card was deactivated.

Thursday, Feb. 21

1:36 p.m.
A staff member in the YMCA reported a laptop computer was stolen from a classroom in the building.

3:19 p.m.
A student reported his calculus textbook was stolen from the Sacred Space sometime that day.

3:23 p.m.
A student reported his unattended black North Face jacket was stolen from the CSC first floor.

7:09 p.m.
An officer reported stopping and speaking to a man and woman, with no Northeastern affiliation, whom students claimed were harassing people in Centennial Common. Both were issued trespass warnings and were escorted from the area. Officers reported that the woman turned over several hypodermic needles, which the officer brought to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center for disposal.

Friday, Feb. 22

3:24 a.m.
A proctor in West Village B reported a college-aged man sleeping in the lobby and not responding to her efforts to talk to him. Officers responded and reported that the 19-year-old student was conscious but intoxicated, not alert and unsure of his place of residence. The student stated he was from Worcester but handed the officer a Pennsylvania drivers license that claimed he was of legal drinking age. The student admitted the license was fake and it was confiscated. The student became more alert and did not wish to go the hospital. Officers escorted the student to his residence at Davenport Commons B.

10:45 a.m.
Security officers reported an aggressive man panhandling on Tremont Street between International Village and the Renaissance Parking Garage. Officers stopped the subject as he was crossing Tremont Street. The non-Northeastern affiliated man was cooperative and stated he was on his way to the Whittier Street Health Center and would stay clear of Northeastern property.

3:41 p.m.
A student reported that his cell phone was stolen from the laundry room of 106 St. Stephen St. when he left it unattended overnight.

Saturday, Feb. 23

12:08 a.m.
An RA at 122 St. Stephen St. reported a student was intoxicated and going in and out of consciousness. Officers responded and reported the 19-year-old man was conscious and somewhat alert. Boston Emergency Medical Services (EMS) transported him to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Officers also spoke to four students who were underage and confiscated several bottles of alcohol.

1:24 a.m.
A student in International Village reported her friend, an 18-year-old who is not affiliated with Northeastern, was intoxicated and in need of medical attention. Officers responded and reported the student was conscious and mildly alert. Boston EMS transported the person to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

4:12 a.m.
A student at 166 St. Stephen St. reported two wallets were stolen from his room. Officers spoke with students who reported a laptop was also stolen. Officers reported that the students may have left their apartment unlocked when they went out.

9:54 p.m.
A student reported two of his sweatshirts were stolen from the laundry room at 116 St. Stephen St. He placed his clothes in the dryer at 12:30 p.m. and returned at 3:30 p.m. to find the sweatshirts missing.

10:58 p.m.
An officer reported he was approached by a student at the end of Forsyth Street who reported being assaulted by two other men on the Egan service road. Officers located the two students on the Egan service road. They reported the other student bumped into them and began throwing punches. All of the students declined medical attention.

Sunday, Feb. 24

1:37 a.m.
A student reported her friend, a 21-year-old student, was intoxicated, vomiting and having trouble standing at the Massachusetts Avenue MBTA platform. MBTA police and Boston EMS were notified. Officers responded and reported that EMS transported the intoxicated student to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. The two friends of the student were also provided with an escort to the hospital.

2:02 a.m.
An officer reported a possible fight in progress at the corner of Tremont and Coventry streets, in front of the Sunrise restaurant. Officers responded and spoke with two non-Northeastern affiliates. Officers reported no physical altercation, just a verbal argument. One subject reported the other may have had a weapon, however no weapon was shown. One man gave consent to a search of his vehicle and person. Officers conducted both searches and confiscated a small bag of marijuana. Both subjects were sent on their way.

2:31 a.m.
A proctor in West Village H reported an intoxicated man was attempting to sign into the building using an ID that was not his. Officers spoke to the former student, who was intoxicated. The man was issued a trespassing violation and Boston EMS transported the man to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

4:07 a.m.
A student reported there was a loud altercation in the apartment above his room in 319 Huntington Ave. Officers responded and spoke to a guest, who invited the officers into the room to speak with the resident, a 19-year-old student. Officers reported the resident was not alert and had trouble answering their questions. Boston EMS responded and after evaluation determined the student did not need medical attention. Officers also confiscated drug paraphernalia and a small amount of marijuana.

2:01 p.m.
A student reported her vehicle was broken into and her backpack, containing a laptop, was stolen. NUPD Operations was able to obtain CCTV footage, which shows a man breaking into the vehicle at 1:21 p.m. and fleeing toward Westland Avenue. Boston Police assumed jurisdiction.
