‘ After many years of planning and building, Northeastern’s newest residence, Parcel 18, is only a few months from opening for the Fall 2009 semester.
The News recently took a tour of the building with Vice President for Student Affairs Ed Klotzbier, project manager Cassandra McKenzie and Dean of Campus Life Marina Iannalfo.
Included in the 22-story building’s cafeteria, cyber cafe and classrooms are food vendors that will be sweet treats to students’ taste buds:’ Jamba Juice and Peet’s Coffee, Iannalfo said.
The 1,200 students living in the building will also have access to something new on Northeastern’s campus. Parcel 18 will house a ‘Faculty in Residence’ for the first time in the school’s history, with staff living in the building as well.
‘The Faculty in Residence will provide programming with an academic bent within the residence hall,’ Klotzbier said of the faculty member who will be living in the 22-story residence hall.
Basic construction is scheduled for completion by the end of May.
