The city of Boston and much of the surrounding area is under a “shelter in place” declaration as police continue an “ongoing manhunt for a person wanted in connection with Monday’s Marathon bombings,” the state website said. All students and staff should stay in doors. Be sure to keep doors locked and stay away from windows to stay safe. The university will remain closed, all campus events are cancelled, and meal service will be provided to students living in residence halls without a dining hall.
UPDATE: 7:21 p.m.
The university has lifted its “shelter in place” order; Northeastern will be open on Saturday and normal operations will resume. Tomorrow’s classes are cancelled. CPS Commencement and Welcome Day remain rescheduled for Sunday.
