Junior pitcher Ryan Quigley was selected in the 22nd round of the MLB Draft June 10 by the Oakland Athletics. He is the 30th Husky in history to be selected by an MLB team and the 13th pitcher taken from NU.
‘ A Northeastern baseball player has been selected in the MLB First-Year Player Draft every year since 2006.

Quigley’s 80 strikeouts led all NU pitchers this season, and he recorded 10 or more strikeouts a game on two occasions. He also led the team in innings pitched per appearance with an average of 5.56. Quigleyt was named the Colonial Athletic Association Pitcher of the Week March 30 for his performance at Hofstra March 27, when he he pitched eight innings and struck out seven to propel the Huskies to a 1-0 win.

Quigley ranks second in school history in career strikeouts per nine innings with an average of 10.88. His career record stands at 6-11 with an ERA of 6.33. He is also 10th all-time in strikeouts and fifth in saves.
