Tuesday June 2
12 p.m.
A student reported she was approached by a man in the Snell Library’ quad who attempted to grab her bag, which was on the ground next to her. He ran off when he noticed she was watching him. She saw him return to the quad again carrying a backpack he did not have before. She’ called Northeastern University Division of Public Safety (NUPD) but’ officers were unable to locate him.

1:30 p.m.
A staff member in the Stearns Center’ reported’ her wallet had been stolen overnight from her desk. Police said’ it appears’ it was taken during the day based on a similar incident in the same building. Her wallet contained credit cards and cash.

2:30 p.m.
Another staff member in the Stearns Center’ reported’ her purse had been stolen from her unlocked office sometime between noon and 2 p.m. A person contacted her later that afternoon and claimed to have her wallet. She called NUPD and they arranged to meet with the man to recover the wallet. Her driver’s license and cash were missing.

Thursday June 4

10:30 p.m.
Custodial staff reported a fire extinguisher had been thrown through the glass door of a’ fourth floor office in Richards Hall. NUPD is’ investigating. Officers believe an overhead projector may have been taken.

Saturday June 6

2:30 p.m.
An off-duty NUPD officer noticed a group of people running out of Snell Library and heard one yell someone had taken his’ bike. The officer also’ saw a group of juveniles walking out of the’ Library’ quad with a bike. NUPD stopped the group, and a witness identified the person who stole the bike. The juvenile’s father’ was informed that police were seeking a criminal complaint against his son.

Sunday June 7

2 a.m.
NUPD received a call from a Northeastern student living on Gainsborough Street.’ The student reported’ another student who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs had forcibly tried to enter his apartment.

3:30 p.m.
The younger cousin of a student involved in a previous attempted break-in case on Gainsborough Street reported the student had not returned home from the previous night. NUPD made several attempts to locate him. The cousin’ later’ reported the student had returned.’ NUPD went to his residence and determined he needed medical attention. Police took the student to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

Monday June 8

6 a.m.
A Marino Center staff member called NUPD to report an alumna was harassing another person in the gym. Police spoke to the woman, who has received numerous trespass warnings for various incidents on campus, and told her she was not welcome back on campus.

12 p.m.
NUPD received a call reporting juveniles were’ throwing rocks from the Carter Playground into a parking lot on Columbus Avenue. No damage was done to the vehicles and the juveniles were sent on their way.

5 p.m.
A Department of Housing and Residential Life staff member contacted NUPD about an’ incident involving broken glass in Stetson West at the end of May. Police spoke with a student who’ said he may have been responsible for the broken glass but could not be sure he had done it.

8:30 p.m.
A student reported a group of young males on Camden Street,’ one of whom was riding his bike that had been recently stolen near Conor Larkin’s on Huntington Avenue. Police stopped the group and’ identified’ the victim’s bike. One of the group members said he found the bike’ abandoned near Burger King. The bike was returned. The owner, a student, will not press charges.

Tuesday June 9

10:25 a.m.
A woman not affiliated with NU’ reported her car had been vandalized while parked in the Gainsborough garage. She told police it was covered in a sticky substance. Arrangements were made by the garage to have her car cleaned.

11:30 p.m.
An NUPD officer noticed a man with no affiliation to Northeastern lying’ unconscious outside of Ryder Hall. The officer called Emergency Medical Services, who took the man to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

Wednesday June 10

12:30 a.m.
An NUPD officer saw two men fighting at Opera Place. The officer noticed’ the victim, who had been kicked in the head, was a 21-year-old NU student. He told police he got into an argument at Conor Larkin’s, which continued outside of the bar and into the street. Boston Police arrested 25-year-old Carnell Winn of Boston for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, his shoe. No one was taken to the hospital.

4:30 p.m.
An alumnus reported he was receiving threatening text messages’ from a student. Police spoke with the student and she agreed to end contact with him.

6:30 p.m.
A student reported she had been receiving phone calls from a blocked number since March. She said she used trapcall.com to unblock the number and recognized that it was her boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend, who’ recently graduated from Northeastern. Police contacted’ the ex-girlfriend and she agreed to stop calling.

9 p.m.
An alumnus sitting outside of Speare Place reported’ a man walked up behind her and grabbed her laptop off the table next to her. He ran down’ Forsyth Street and the Fenway but police were unable to locate him.

Thursday June 11

11 p.m.
A student reported he had been hit in the head with a water balloon while walking in front of West Village A. NUPD is’ investigating which room the balloon came from.

Sunday June 14
A student reported three men standing’ near the bike racks’ in the West Village quad. Police found them near White Hall,’ where a cable lock on a bike had been cut. Police also found an unattended bike near West Village. One of the men in the group had bull cutters which are commonly used to cut cable locks. NUPD strongly suggests using U-shaped locks to prevent bike theft.
