A man was shot in the leg and hand at about 5:10 p.m. yesterday outside the Ruggles Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) station near Parker Street and Columbus Avenue.
The male victim is a 19-year-old from Dorchester, said Officer Michael McCarthy, a spokesman for the Boston Police Department. He is not affiliated with Northeastern. He was taken by ambulance to Brigham and Women’s Hospital with non life-threatening injuries, McCarthy said.
MBTA Police Sergeant Kenneth Green said the incident occurred near the walkway that leads to the bus docks outside the station. After the shooting, the victim ran and collapsed outside the Dunkin’ Donuts kiosk near the entrance to the Orange Line trains.
