Monday, Oct. 27
11:16 a.m.
Northeastern University Police Department (NUPD) reported graffiti on the No Smoking signs near the black ball entrance of afterHOURS. A report was filed.
1:12 p.m.
A student notified NUPD that her black Swiss army backpack was stolen between 12:50 and 1 p.m. while left unattended outside a room in West Village G. The backpack contained her wallet and other items. A report was filed.
4:23 p.m.
A student reported witnessing two males cut a lock from a bicycle and head to the alleyway behind Shillman Hall. NUPD officers responded to the area and stopped one of the male suspects who are not affiliated with Northeastern, on Hallenborg Way. The student witness positively identified the suspect and he was taken into custody at 4:43 p.m. before being released to his mother. The juvenile will be summoned at a later date. Officers also located a second damaged lock and collected the information of a student who attempted to insert himself into a police investigation.
6:08 p.m.
A Marino Center staff member reported that his black Dell laptop was taken from his physical therapy office while the door was unlocked. He last saw the computer at approximately 5 p.m. The device does not have any tracking software. A report was filed.
10:57 p.m.
NUPD officers stopped three students on The Fenway and confiscated less than an ounce of marijuana. Officers collected their information and a report was filed.
Tuesday, Oct. 28
10:37 a.m.
A student reported to NUPD that a package delivered to his residence at 650 Columbus Ave. was stolen. A report was filed.
6:58 p.m.
Boston Police Department (BPD) responded to a robbery at 795 Columbus Ave. NUPD officers responded as well and reported speaking with the victim, who is not a Northeastern student. He was walking near Ruggles and Tremont streets when he was jumped by five males who stole his iPhone 4. BPD assumed jurisdiction.
9:19 p.m.
A student reported finding fraudulent charges on his credit card. An NUPD officer responded and reported $1,800 worth of charges were placed on his Mingsheng Bank Visa card in Malaysia. NUPD filed a report and authorities will follow up on the case.
9:44 p.m.
A student reported that several of her personal accounts, containing sensitive information, were hacked. A report was filed.
Wednesday, Oct. 29
1:15 a.m.
An allied officer on the Egan footbridge reported a male dressed in black was riding a bike inside the construction site near the office trailer. The male was going in and out of the trailer and then rode his bike behind the dirt pile. Officers responded and chased the male on foot, who headed across Tremont Street by Sunrise Chinese Food. Officers stopped a male fitting the description near the Douglas/Columbus area. The suspect, who is not a Northeastern student, was positively identified. He was taken into custody at 1:35 a.m. and displayed disorderly behavior in the police vehicle. He was transported to Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority police for immediate booking. A red mountain bike, jacket, shoes and backpack (containing two pairs of wire cutters, one nut wrench, one pair of vice grips, two pairs of safety glasses, a radio and charger and markers) were recovered from the suspect. Officers checked the construction site and found no damage but the storage locker in the office had been rummaged through. The office door was secured and a note left for Suffolk Construction.
12:49 p.m.
A student notified NUPD that his iPhone was stolen from Speare Hall while left unattended. He tracked the phone to the area of Parker and Ward streets. The victim also informed NUPD that there were two people he noticed in the area and gave officers descriptions. The student then sent a text message to the phone stating that it had been stolen and asking whoever found it to return it. The suspects then called the student attempting to get money for the cell phone and hung up. A report was filed.
Thursday, Oct. 30
9 a.m.
A student reported his laptop was stolen from a room in Egan Hall between 3 and 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. A report was filed.
11:25 a.m.
A student reported to NUPD that 33 computer RAMS were stolen from Snell Engineering Center over the past three months. A report was filed.
12:54 p.m.
A student reported to NUPD that his backpack with his wallet was stolen from Centennial Commons between 11:50 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. The victim also received a call from his bank reporting unauthorized charges to his credit card. A report was filed.
5:29 p.m.
A student reported her white North Face backpack was stolen from the Ryder Lot between 5:15 and 5:20 p.m. The backpack contained her wallet and cell phone. A report was filed.
9:18 p.m.
A Resident Assistant (RA) in Stetson West reported an odor of marijuana coming from a room on the third floor. NUPD officers responded and spoke with four students. Officers confiscated less than one ounce of the substance and filed a report. The students were referred to the Office of Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution (O.S.C.C.R.)
10:41 p.m.
An NUPD officer spotted an intoxicated female in front of 23 St. Stephens St. NUPD responded and EMS was notified. EMS transported the female, who is not affiliated with the university, to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. An officer followed EMS, as the patient was being combative.
Friday, Oct. 31
2:01 a.m.
A witness reported an intoxicated male vomiting in the lobby of West Village E. NUPD officers responded and requested EMS for the student. The underage male was then transported to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. The Residence Director (RD) on call and cleaning staff were notified.
11:14 p.m.
Two NUPD officers stopped a student in front of 43 Symphony Road for an open-container violation. The student was also underage. A report was filed and the student was referred to O.S.C.C.R.
Saturday, Nov. 1
1:45 a.m.
A female was reported to be sleeping in the lobby of Stetson West. The proctor was called and she confirmed the female’s presence and provided a description. Officers responded and requested EMS for the student who was conscious but not alert. She was then transported to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. The RD on call was notified.
1:55 a.m.
A caller requested a medical evaluation for a highly intoxicated friend on Krentzman Quad. Officers responded and requested EMS for the student, who was conscious but not alert. The student was transported to Brigham and Women’s Hospital. The RD on call was notified.
2:48 a.m.
A student in Speare Hall was reported as intoxicated and vomiting. Officers responded and requested EMS for the student, who was conscious but not alert. EMS evaluated the student and deemed medical attention unnecessary.
3:14 p.m.
A Northeastern staff member called to report that the fans at Parsons Field were acting disorderly. NUPD officers responded and spoke to several people who explained that the fans were orderly, but one of the coaches had pushed a player on the field and was then ejected from the game. Officers remained at the field until the conclusion of the game. A report was filed.
7:59 p.m.
A student called NUPD to report she left her MacBook Pro laptop on the third floor of Snell Library at approximately 7:40 p.m. for 10 minutes and when she returned, it was missing. She did not observe any suspicious persons in the area. A report was filed.
Sunday, Nov. 2
1:22 a.m.
Two males vomiting in the third floor men’s bathroom of Smith Hall were reported. Officers responded and requested EMS for evaluation of both intoxicated students. EMS arrived and transported them to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. The RD was notified of the transport. A return escort was provided at 7:36 a.m.
3:35 a.m.
An intoxicated female in the lobby of White Hall was reported. Her friends were attempting to bring her back to her dorm but she did not have ID necessary to enter the building. Officers responded and spoke with the student who was in no need of medical assistance. However, she admitted to drinking while underage before signing a waiver declining medical assistance. A report was filed.
