Entry of the Week: Sunday, Sept. 6
9:25 a.m.
A caller stated there was smoke coming from a room in 10 Coventry Street. The caller was advised to leave the area and Fire Safety was notified. Officers confirmed smoke coming from the room and the Boston Fire Department (BFD) approved a reset but did not allow anyone in the building. Facilities and Residence Life responded and occupancy was expected to be delayed several hours to handle ventilation of smoke and damage to the room. The source was a cardboard box placed on an active stove. A report was filed.
Monday, Aug. 31
11:09 a.m.
An associate bursar reported receiving a counterfeit $100 bill from a Northeastern University (NU) student in Richards Hall. A report was filed.
Tuesday, Sept. 1
2:54 p.m.
A staff member reported that a cell phone was missing from his office in Robinson Hall and may have been stolen three days prior to the day of report. A report was filed.
9:41 p.m.
A resident assistant (RA) in Davenport B reported graffiti written on a common area chair. A Northeastern University Police Department (NUPD) officer responded and a report was filed.
Wednesday, Sept. 2
12:04 a.m.
An NUPD officer reported an intoxicated male in front of 407 Huntington Ave. EMS was already on the scene. The 50-year-old male, who was unaffiliated with the university, was transported to Tufts Medical Center for further evaluation.
12:30 p.m.
An NU student reported his road bike stolen from the racks in front of International Village after securing it there on Sunday. A report was filed.
3:19 p.m.
An NU student reported that his electronic memo pad was stolen from the Forsyth Building while left unattended. A report was filed.
Thursday, Sept. 3
8:27 a.m.
An NUPD officer reported that three tires of a police vehicle were slashed while at Columbus Place. The car was towed to the NU auto shop, and at 8:55 a.m. an unknown party attempted to slash a tire on an unmarked NUPD vehicle bursaras well. A report was filed.
Friday, Sept. 4
5:17 p.m.
An NU student reported that his bike was stolen from its secured place on the fence of 97 St. Stephen Street. It had been secured since the previous day. A report was filed.
7:45 p.m.
A student reported her wallet was stolen within thirty30 minutes of thereport from her room in the YMCA Hastings Wing. A report was filed.
Saturday, Sept. 5
12:31 a.m.
NUPD received a noise complaint for 115 Gainsborough Street. Officers responded and found students in the alleyway behind the building. They were advised to disperse. Boston Police Department (BPD) responded and assumed jurisdiction.
1:39 a.m.
An individual called NUPDto report that her friend, who attends Northeastern, was intoxicated. Officers responded to the location of the student on Massachusetts Avenue and requested EMS. EMS arrived and transported the woman to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. The residence director (RD) was notified.
2:51 a.m.
An NU student requested two males she had signed into East Village be put on a ban list. She did not know the males, who are unaffiliated with Northeastern, and reported they followed her to her room and took her phone for the time. The males were placed on the ban list for 24 hours and a report was filed.
9:37 a.m.
An NUPD officer reported a moving employee harassing three female students on Forsyth Street. The employee’s supervisor escorted the employee off campus and a trespassing warning was issued.
2:23 p.m.
An NUPD sergeant reported an operator of a Massachusetts-registered vehicle bumped another Massachusetts vehicle in the North Lot. The hit vehicle was unoccupied but sustained damage. The driver was uninjured and left a note instructing the owner of the damaged car to contact NUPD. A report was filed.
Sunday, Sept. 6
12:57 a.m.
An intoxicated female was reported in Kennedy Hall. The student was transported to the hospital and the RD was notified.
2:15 a.m.
A resident of Kennedy Hall reported that he returned home to find an intoxicated female in his room. NUPD responded and requested EMS for the inebriated << student who was conscious but not alert. EMS transported her to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and the RD was notified.
3:02 a.m.
The roommate of an NU student approached an officer on Hemenway Street stating that her friend, an NU student, left a party on the Fenway intoxicated and without her cell phone. NUPD checked the Fenway address and found EMS was already on the scene and transporting the subject to the hospital. The RD was notified.
3:26 p.m.
An RD reported a student’s bicycle was stolen on Saturday from International Village during move in. A report was filed.
4:57 p.m.
An NU parent reported sustaining minor vehicle damage while in the Columbus Parking Garage. A report was filed.
Monday, Sept. 7
12:54 a.m.
An individual requested an ambulance immediately for an intoxicated female NU student on Judge Street who was conscious but not alert. NUPD notified EMS who arrived and transported the student to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. The RD was notified.
