The faculty senate passed a resolution last week that would attach photos of students to electronic class rosters. The photos would be the same ones used on students’ Husky Cards, and supporters say this would help professors get to know their students.
The resolution is one of several presented to the senate by the Information Technology Policy Committee. Christian Toczko, a freshman electrical engineering major, was the Student Government Association (SGA) representative on the committee, and said the resolution is a good thing for students.
“When they come into class, they’ll know who you are,” Toczko said.
Toczko said the idea was requested by professors, who said they wanted to have faces attached to names. It met with support in faculty senate as well, and passed 25-2 with two abstentions.
