After a day of dreary, cold rain, the autumn air turned crisp, the city lights shimmered and devout Addison Groove Project fans filed into the Paradise Rock Club last Saturday to witness the band’s second hometown performance of the weekend.
When the opener finished and the crowd doubled in number, the sextet of funkified Beantown musicians ambled modestly on-stage, picked up the tools of their trade, and proceeded to unleash a tsunami of sound that raged through the eardrums of everyone in the club.
John Hall, the bass player, could barely contain a look of unbridled appeasement with the grooves that soared from the monitors; his face contorted in such a way that his smile seemed to distend much more than had he not been so taken by the music.
