As a senior ready to graduate in May, my memories of Northeastern have been overwhelmingly positive.
That is, until the third week of March 2010, during which I ripped down a dozen fliers advertising the pro-life agenda, and stepped on leaflets, printed with abortion statics, scattered throughout the campus.
I am infuriated that my Studen’s Activity Fee funded this politically and religiously motivated Respect Life campaign. This right-wing nonsense managed to hide behind the guise of “education,” but the one-sided and aggressive nature of the weeks so-called educational activities told a very different story.
I am a woman dedicated to the power of personal choice, and Northeastern has presented me with a brand new way to exercise this ability: I can choose not to donate or support the university after I graduate.
