Women’s basketball guard Melissa Kowalski has been selected as this weeks NU News Player of the Week. The junior nailed three of her game-high five three-pointers in the last 4:29 against America East Conference foe Stony Brook last Wednesday, leading the Huskies to a 73-70 comeback win. The Huskies were down 68-60 before the barrage. She finished the game with 17 points, six rebounds and two assists. On Friday, Kowalski lead the Husky attack that declawed crosstown rival Boston University Terriers, 72-63. She lead all NU scorers with 19 points, five rebounds, and two assists. During each game, Kowalski tied an NU record for five three-pointers in a single game. She also received America East Conference Co-Player of the Week honors for her performance.
