Ninety-nine years ago today, The Northeastern News published its first edition.
On Feb. 24, 1926, two of Northeastern’s student publications, the School of Engineering’s The Northeastern Tech and the College of Business Administration’s The Bulletin merged and published the announcement in the first edition of The Northeastern News.
“Combine Tech and Bulletin to Form Unit Publication,” the headline announcing the merger read.
Decades later in 2008, the paper became independent from the university and changed its name to The Huntington News.
Now, after 99 years since that first edition, we celebrate the near century-long legacy of student journalism at Northeastern.

In celebration of this milestone, The Huntington News has compiled nine historic front pages from our first several decades of publication.
