Northeastern Athletics has tapped Jaime Snyder to fill the role of associate head coach for the university’s volleyball team, the team announced on social media and on the Northeastern Athletics website Feb. 26.
Snyder previously coached at D’Youville University and Hartford University in New York and Connecticut, respectively. At D’Youville, she was the head coach of both the men’s and women’s volleyball teams, where she led the women’s team to its first ever DII tournament appearance and conference championship win in the program’s history last season.
Snyder has been involved in all parts of the athletic program, from helping manage both teams’ travel plans and fundraising at D’Youville and recruiting, budgeting and running social media at Hartford. She was also a graduate student coaching assistant at Smith College for the women’s volleyball team and an assistant coach at St. John Fisher College.
Snyder’s hiring follows another coaching change the volleyball team is experiencing after the university hired new head coach Brendan McGourn Jan. 31. Last season, the Huskies failed to make the CAA tournament with a 10-16 record.
“Excited to announce that I am joining the Northeastern family and heading back to New England,” Snyder said in an Instagram post. “Forever grateful for my time spent in Buffalo and cannot wait for this next stop in life.”
