Northeastern women’s ice hockey assistant coach Lindsay Berman has been chosen to lead the U.S. Collegiate Women’s Select Team as an assistant coach, as announced August 10 by Team USA Hockey.
Berman previously coached the 2023 U.S. U18 Women’s National Team, leading it to a bronze medal in the 2023 International Ice Hockey Federation U18 World Championship.
Part of the Huskies’ coaching staff since 2018, Berman helped lead them to five straight Hockey East Championships, four Beanpot titles and the team’s first-ever appearance in a national title game. Previously, she coached at the University of Massachusetts Boston and Brown University.
Berman’s hockey journey began as a player for Northeastern. She recorded 62 points from 2007 to 2010 and was named to the 2009 Hockey East All-Star Team before transitioning to playing professionally for the Boston Blades from 2010-14 and Connecticut Whale from 2014-15.
Berman will be coaching some of Northeastern’s own, as senior forward Lily Shannon and senior defense Jules Constantinople earned spots on the team.
The U.S. Collegiate Women’s Select Team wrapped up its annual series against Canada on Aug. 16 in Lake Placid, New York. Team USA won the first two games 4-1 and 4-3 and lost the third 7-6 in a shootout. Last year, Team USA won the series with a 1-1-0-1 record in Ontario, Canada. Out of the 19 times the series has been held, the U.S. has won 11 times, including the last six.
