After eight long months of community showers and messy roommates, the freshmen have decided that the Stetson complex surpasses all other dorms on campus as the best place to live.
Was it the economy triples that made these students decide that nothing compares to Stetson East and West? Was it the lack of closet space or the lofted bunks?
For the students in Stetson East, it was Saturday morning. No other students on campus could wake up at 12:58 p.m. on a cold winter morning, roll out of bed, put on their slippers and still make it down to the cafeteria before breakfast disappeared at one.
For Stetson West, it was the late-night stir fry that students could grab on a Thursday night after the crowd died down and still make it back upstairs for “Friends” at 8 p.m. They could even watch “Friends” on the big screen TV in the lobby if they wanted to.
Both halls were equipped with a projected wall screen that frequently showed movies and MTV. Couches and chairs surrounded both for the ultimate residence hall comfort. In addition, everything from air hockey to ping pong adorned their lobbies.
The atmosphere inside the halls was also a plus for many students. With rooms packed so close together and quiet against the rules, many students took pleasure in the fact that if they left their door open, someone was almost always going to pop in.
There was puke in the halls, broken elevators and amazing late-night chats with roommates that these students will never forget. What more could a freshman ask for?
