Six Northeastern students were arrested Friday night at their Mission Hill residence and later arraigned on charges of purchasing and possession of liquor by a person under the age of 21, as well as keeping a noisy and disorderly house. Interim Vice President of Student Affairs Ed Klotzbier said such behavior by students is unacceptable. “We will not tolerate this behavior by our students, whether on or off campus,” Klotzbier said. “All of the students will be brought before the Office of Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution.” The six students, Gavin Filmore, 19; Avraham Brownstein, 18; Fabio Franzella, 20; Richard Basteri, 19; Noel A. Yulfo, 18; and Bryce Rosner, 19 pleaded not guilty in West Roxbury District Court Monday, said David Procopio, spokesman for the Suffolk district attorney. They face level one penalties, the most severe from the university, which could result in suspension or expulsion, as well as possible jail time and fines if found guilty in court. The six were released on their own personal recognizance, Procopio said. They will be in court again on Oct. 7 for a pretrial hearing. Boston Police responded to 3 Parker Hill Avenue at 10:47 p.m. Friday, and observed approximately 40 people waiting in front of the house to gain entrance, said Officer John Boyle of BPD Media Relations. Police discovered that people were being charged $5 for a cup, which was then filled with beer. Inside the residence, police found 50 occupants and a bar in the attic set up with beer balls. Officers asked people inside to produce identification, and many were underage, Boyle said. Officers then arrested occupants in the house as well as the aforementioned residence. Evidence, which included the beer balls, a case of beer bottles and a sleeve of cups that were being sold, were seized.
