The Northeastern women’s cross country team raced to a 28-28 score with visiting Boston University at Franklin Park on Friday. At the same time the men’s squad fell to Colgate and BU, both meets finishing with identical 15-48 scores. Junior Amber Cullen led the 16th ranked Huskies, placing second with a time of 19:05 in the five kilometer course. She was tailed by sophomore Emily Watson, who came in third with a 19:18. Sophomore Stephanie Morrison, in her first time navigating the course, placed seventh with a time of 19:33. Lauren Phillips’ time of 19:34 gave her the 11th place finish, while teammate Ashleigh Bordwell took 13th with a 20:19. Erica Riecke (15th, 20:23), Samantha Noonan (16th, 21:52), Meghan Morris-Mitchell (18th, 22:13) and Natale Pennecooke (20th, 22:13) all took top-20 finishes for Northeastern. Marisa Ryan of BU was the overall winner with an 18:50. The men had their difficulties with 8th-ranked BU and Colgate, with Jon Litchfield leading NU with a time of 26:46, good for 12th. Nick Kent finished 23rd with a personal best time of 29:00. Tim Niles (29:03), Jack Stanley (29:11), Tom Pratt (29:20) and Nick Tussing (29:20) qued to take the 24-27 spots for Northeastern. Colgate’s Xavier de Boissezon crossed the finish line first with a 24:56, Jochen Dieckfoss of BU took second with a 25:18. Louis DiNuzzo of Colgate ran a 25:24 for third place.
