Holiday season did not treat the Northeastern (3-11) women’s basketball team kindly, nor did the New Year, as the Huskies dropped their fifth straight game Sunday afternoon. The Huskies fell to 3-11 on the season and 0-4 in conference play after a 54-48 loss to the University of Delaware (6-9).
Northeastern’s track and field team started the season with seven first place finishes at the Dec. 6 Boston University (BU) season opener. One week later, NU hosted the sixth annual Jay Carisella Invitational and finished first overall.

With its win over No. 3 University of Minnesota on Saturday, the Northeastern men’s hockey team had its first winning streak of the season. It was short-lived as Providence snapped the streak on Wednesday in the first of two games against the Huskies. The big question that faces Head Coach Jim Madigan and his team is if they can find the means to bounce back from defeat and play the way fans know they are capable of as the team gets into the heart of this season’s tough schedule.
