The men’s basketball team’s first Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) game of the season, a Dec. 4 match against Drexel, will be unlike any other on the Huskies’ schedule this season: It will take place at the TD Garden. Part of the Boston Tip Off Classic, which also includes a game between Boston College and UMass-Amherst, this will be the first time the team has played at the Garden since 1973.

The women’s soccer team is out of the running for the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) title, but it certainly isn’t done fighting. “We have to end well,” sophomore forward Greta Samuelsdottir said. “This is a great opportunity to finish off as well as we can and keep going from last weekend.”

Men’s Soccer: Victory over Drexel keeps playoff hopes alive

October 28, 2010
With just one win in its last five games, the men’s soccer team needed a boost from an unexpected source. The Huskies received just that from sophomore forward Don Anding, whose first two goals of the season paced the offense in a 3-1 victory over Drexel last night.

Column: Still not sold

October 28, 2010
I'll admit it: I overreacted. When Northeastern's men's hockey team started this year with an 0-2-1 record, it was hard not to panic – the last time the team started a season with a record like that was 2005-06, an infamous, lost year when the team dropped eight times as many games as it won. Commonly referred to as "the three-win season," it's a time in the program's history most would rather forget.

What’s in (and not in) Muscle Milk

October 21, 2010
Once a staple of athletes’ training diet all over the country, Muscle Milk, a protein shake designed to increase strength and lean muscle growth, was simply too good to be true. According to Mary Wilfert, the associate director of health and safety of the NCAA, Muscle Milk wasn’t banned, but an ingredient in it, an insulin growth hormone (IGF-1) that stimulates muscle growth, was on the list of banned substances.

Men’s Soccer: Freshmen control the scoring

October 21, 2010
Since Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) play began for the men’s soccer team Sept. 25, goals have been difficult to come by. The Huskies are ranked seventh out of 12 in the CAA in average goals per game with 1.33. Despite a plethora of scoring chances, the Huskies have been unable to execute, posting one goal in two contests this week– a 0-0 draw last Saturday against UNC–Wilmington and a 2-1 loss last night at Towson.
