The Huskies, who beat UMass Lowell 4-1 on their home turf two weeks ago, came out on top against the River Hawks again Saturday night in a nail-biting overtime victory courtesy of a beautiful goal from fourth-year forward Patrick Schule.

Basketball fans at Matthews Arena were treated to a thrilling season opener on Tuesday that came down to the final shot. In the end, Northeastern men’s basketball fell to the Boston University Terriers by a score of 77-74 after senior guard Vasa Pusica missed on a difficult three point attempt at the buzzer.

When the Colonial Athletic Association, or CAA, announced its end of season awards, three Huskies were named to the All-CAA First Team: fourth-year midfielder Valentina Soares Gache, fourth-year goalkeeper Nathalie Nidetch and second-year defender Julianne Ross.

Northeastern men’s basketball continues to make a name for itself, being named the Colonial Athletic Association Preseason Favorite. The team received 35 first place votes which beat out last year’s conference champions the University of Charleston.

Not long after the two quick goals by Ward and Mueller, Aurard blasted one past Pelletier on the powerplay to extend the lead to four goals. Mueller received a pass from Hobson along the blue line and faked out the defenders with a great shot fake before passing it cross-ice to Aurard at the far post, who quickly fired off a high shot.

Women’s hockey win sixth straight, off to best start in program history

The Northeastern women’s hockey team, ranked eighth best in the country, traveled north to Burlington, Vermont to face off with the Catamounts, (1-4-2). They are now off to their strongest start ever after their 4-1 win on Tuesday night which extended their win streak to six games.

NU lose foul-filled semifinal game to Hofstra

In a foul-filled contest where tensions ran high, the Huskies failed to score and left Parsons Field for the last time this season. Hofstra’s early goal forced Northeastern to play catch up before ending the season in a 1-0 loss in their semifinal matchup on Sunday. Northeastern finished the year with an impressive CAA record of 7-2-0.
