Two sophomores, forward Rachael Pecota and guard Afreyea Tolbert, scored 12 points to lead the women’s basketball team to their second straight win, defeating the University of Vermont 55-46 on the road last night.
The women’s basketball team exhibited poor shooting percentages in last night’s 60-54 loss to Dartmouth College, shooting a mere 24 percent from beyond the 3-point line and 33 percent from the field.
Sophomore guard Rachel Pecota led the women’s basketball team in scoring this weekend, posting a career-high 25 points in Friday’s 72-69 loss to Syracuse University.
With the addition of 6-foot-3-inch freshmen forwards Sierra Mendenhall and Jewel Tunstull, and 6-4 sophomore forward Christine Huber, who transferred from Rutgers University last season, the women’s basketball team is in a tall position to advance further in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Tournament than it did last season.
