The Student Government Association (SGA) filled several positions, including the newly created vice chair slot, during its senate meeting Monday.
Senator Nick Naraghi, a sophomore computer science and finance major, lost the race for vice chair against chief of staff and sophomore political science and history major, Terry MacCormack.
“The only power of the vice chair is to chair senate in the event that the EVP [executive vice president] is not around,” SGA President Mike Sabo said in an email to The News. “The vice chair is an appointment that will expire July 1 with the rest of the [executive] board.”
Josh Coombes took the vice president of academic affairs post in SGA, replacing Dani Wojdyla. Kelly Dwyer, SGA’s executive director of communications, said Wojdyla took a co-op in Los Angeles and resigned in December. Coombes served as Wojdyla’s assistant in the fall. Ryan Gordon also took over for Amy Holmes as parliamentarian.
