Time Out Market Boston held a free Halloween “Fun House” bash Oct. 28. The late-night, carnival-themed event featured a 360-degree photo booth, a DJ, performers and a costume competition.
A large shared dining area in the Fenway neighborhood, Time Out Market Boston has a variety of diverse restaurants and bars spread throughout a market-style space. The venue aims to bring the best dishes, restaurants and chefs of Boston together, providing both Boston mainstays and newer restaurants a platform to promote their food. By hosting many different events, this platform is elevated to an even wider market.
At the Fun House event, costumed guests enjoyed free stilt and hoop performers and a cotton candy machine, all to a Halloween-themed soundtrack cultivated by a live DJ. Witches, clowns and killers crossed paths while ordering from the bars and restaurants.
The event concluded with a costume contest, where competitors lined up to have their costumes judged, with a winner decided by audience applause. Audience favorites included Pennywise, cowboy Barbie and Maleficent.
Although the competition was fierce, a final winner between a group dressed as Teletubbies and a group dressed as the Mystery Incorporated gang from “Scooby-Doo” was decided with a dance battle — audience applause named the Teletubbies as the victors. The winners left with a $100 Time Out Market gift card.
At the end of the night, guests left the Halloween festivities with free cotton candy and videos from the 360-degree photo booth, along with delicious food purchased from the popular restaurants the venue houses.
