Northeastern women’s soccer has hired Abby Carchio as a new assistant coach, the team announced on social media and the Northeastern Athletics website Feb. 28.
The women’s soccer team finished its 2024 season with a disappointing 2-9-7 overall record and will look to reset come 2025 with Carchio.
Carchio spent the fall 2024 season as an interim head coach at Roger Williams University, where she led the Hawks to a 9-5-6 overall record. Three of her student-athletes were also named to all-conference teams.
Prior to her time at Roger Williams, Carchio spent four years playing professionally in Europe — competing in Ireland, Denmark, France, Lithuania and Iceland.
In college, Carchio played for the Brown University Bears, where she earned First Team All-Ivy League for three years. She also captained the Bears to an Ivy League title in 2019 before graduating in 2020. Now, Carchio is returning to New England to join the Huskies.
“Abby’s deep knowledge of the game, keen attention to detail, and inquisitive mindset will be tremendous assets as we continue to grow and evolve,” said head coach Ashley Phillips in a statement. “We are excited to have her on board and look forward to the impact she will make.”
