June is a month of celebration for the LGBTQ+ community and marks the official start of summer. This year, Boston’s students, educators, tourists and citizens alike stood up for what they believed in and commemorated the LGBTQ+ community’s achievements with the Boston Pride Parade, “No Kings” protest, concerts and joy. We sent our photo staff to capture it all, and here’s the best of what they brought back.

Previously a staff photographer and deputy photo editor for The News, Margot Murphy is a third-year journalism major with a minor in psychology. She’s worked on projects ranging from Peruvian profiles to figure skating championships. Darin Zullo is a third-year journalism and English combined major with a minor in photojournalism. He is currently on co-op at Boston.com as a general assignment reporter and has previously served as deputy lifestyle editor and deputy photo editor for The News. As lifestyle editor, he is excited to bring new ideas to the section’s coverage of entertainment, culture and the arts.
Elizabeth Scholl is a third-year pharmaceutical sciences major with a minor in business administration. She currently serves as one of the deputy photo editors for The News. Her favorite events to photograph include sports, concerts and anything The News needs last minute.
