A large stadium setting, a concession stand with not only popcorn and soda, but Uno’s pizza, hot dogs, ice cream, nachos, chicken fingers, pretzel nuggets and candy, as well as a student discount make the AMC Fenway 13 NU students’ number one choice for the best movie theater.
A 15 minute walk from campus, this theater is famous for its great seats and long lines. Those long lines can be annoying on a movie’s opening day, so before you start walking to the theater this summer, make sure you buy your tickets online. Prices are as follows: general admission is $9; students with valid I.D anytime $7, and $7 for matinees before 6 p.m. Visit movietickets.com or fandango.com to purchase ahead, but beware of the extra $1 fee.
What’s out this summer of sequels? Here’s a quick preview:
June: Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz, and Lucy Liu star in “Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle,” and for “American Idol” fans, Justin Guarini and Ms. Independent Kelly Clarkson star in, what else, “From Justin to Kelly.”
July: He said he’d be back. Don’t miss the third installment of the Terminator series starring Arnold Schwarzenegger in this July’s “Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines.” Also playing in July: Reese Witherspoon in “Legally Blonde 2: Red, White, and Blonde.” And buddies Will Smith and Martin Lawrence team up again for “Bad Boys II.”
August: Apple pie and a whole lot more. The second “American Pie” saga continues with “American Wedding.” Wonder who’s getting married? Finally the big J.Lo and Ben movie comes out. It’s called “Gigli.” It’s also called a box-office bomb.
Of course, there is a movie etiquette to be followed, so pay attention: open all wrappers before the movie begins, even before the previews (we all love the trailers), end conversations … don’t start them, and last but not least don’t forget to turn your cell phone off or you’re bound to get booed out of the theater. That’s a guarantee.
