It took some time and it wasn’t pretty, but the Northeastern women’s soccer team took home its first outright National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) tournament win in school history on Saturday. By edging Boston University (BU) in a 2-0 thriller at BU’s Nickerson Field, the Huskies earned a spot amongst the last 32 teams standing in Division I women’s soccer.

Last week was one of great highs and lows for the Northeastern men’s soccer team. The team started with a 1-0 overtime victory at home against Drexel University, improving their Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) record to 2-0. Following the close win, the Huskies were trounced 5-0 in a game at Elon University.

Two conference losses this past week left Northeastern men’s soccer as the fifth-seed heading into this weekend’s Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) tournament. The Huskies dropped Saturday’s match to the College of Charleston, 1-0, before rounding out the regular season slate with a 4-2 loss to the University of North Carolina-Wilmington (UNCW).
