Cappys employees confess to beating two customers
Two employees from Cappy’s Pizza and Subs confessed in a pretrial hearing to the beating of two undergraduate students last April, a charge they emphatically denied at the time. A Roxbury District Court judge ordered Demetrios Pseudoikonomou, manager of the Cappy’s chain, and another employee to pay $250 each in medical restitution to the victims, said Jake Wark, press secretary of the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office. Both employees were charged with assault and battery and received one year probation, Wark said. The morning of April 16, Pseudoikonomou and the other employee assaulted the victims outside the restaurant following a verbal argument that occurred while they were ordering food. Brian Sawyer, a Westfield State College sophomore, and Allison Partridge, a Northeastern sophomore political science major, suffered minor injuries from the beating.
