June is a month of celebration for the LGBTQ+ community and marks the official start of summer. This year, Boston’s students, educators, tourists and citizens alike stood up for what they believed in and commemorated the LGBTQ+ community’s achievements with the Boston Pride Parade, “No Kings” protest, concerts and joy. We sent our photo staff to capture it all, and here’s the best of what they brought back.

Constantly with her camera, Margot Murphy is a third-year journalism major with a minor in psychology and photo editor of The News. From Peruvian sports stories to performative profiles, Margot dives headfirst into the photojournalism scene. She can’t wait to hone her craft and experiment with photography styles while listening to “Last Son” by David Fleming for the nth time. Darin Zullo is a fourth-year journalism and English major with a minor in photojournalism. He previously served as The News’ lifestyle editor, deputy lifestyle editor and deputy photo editor. He also completed a co-op as a general assignment reporter for Boston.com, where he now works as a freelance reporter. As an editorial board alum, he’s excited to support the News as a staff reporter.
Elizabeth Scholl is a third-year pharmaceutical sciences major with a minor in business administration. She currently serves as one of the deputy photo editors for The News. Her favorite events to photograph include sports, concerts and anything The News needs last minute.
