Northeastern women’s basketball sophomore guard María Sánchez Pitarch has entered the transfer portal, according to The IX Sports’ transfer portal tracker. Pitarch is the first to leave the women’s team after concluding the 2025-26 season with a 7-22 record.
The Valencia, Spain native played in 28 of the team’s 29 games and started in the last four of the season. She notched 85 points, 15 steals, 28 assists and 35 rebounds. In her freshman campaign, Pitarch managed to stay healthy and started in the six games she played in after several players were benched due to injuries.
Pitarch was a fairly reliable player off the bench for the Huskies, playing consistent defense and handling the ball at the top of the key. She scored eight key points in Northeastern’s battle against North Carolina A&T Feb. 20 and had a career-high nine points against the College of Charleston Feb. 13.
